10. Linda Cardellini - They Know

Bill Hader is setting his sights on becoming the latest comedian to make a successful transition into horror, and considering the huge success he had with his black comedy crime series Barry, it's incredibly easy to have faith in him.

His feature debut, They Know, is centered around a divorced dad (played by Hader) who becomes suspicious that his ex-wife is dating a man capable of exerting a bizarre influence over their kids.

The ex-wife character will be played by Linda Cardellini, who has enjoyed quite the career resurgence in recent years with her terrific performances in TV shows Bloodline and Dead to Me. Cardellini may not have many horror films to her name, but from what we've seen of her recently, it's easy to see her as a note-perfect fit for this part while having great chemistry with Hader.

Hopefully it's a significant enough role that she becomes the next actress to pick up awards buzz for her involvement in a horror film - only to likely be ignored by the Academy, of course.
