20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Made PERFECT Casting Choices
9. Melissa Leo - The Mannequin
Melissa Leo finally got her hard-earned Hollywood breakthrough with her phenomenal, Oscar-nominated performance in 2008's Frozen River, and followed it up with a 2011 Oscar win for her role in The Fighter.
This made Leo one of the most in-demand character actors of the 2010s, and though her profile has tapered off somewhat in recent years, she seems set to make quite the intriguing return with her new film The Mannequin.
The Mannequin is the latest effort from The Loved Ones and Dangerous Animals filmmaker Sean Byrne, and is said to be a horror-thriller revolving around a serial killer, with the lead roles played by Leo and Lili Reinhart.
Though we don't actually have an official plot synopsis, the film's press release suggests that Leo will be playing a grizzled elder who helps Reinhart's younger character bring down the serial killer. Byrne has singled out Leo's "fearless performance," which is, frankly, enough to be excited about her casting.
