10 Amazing Artists That Only Have One Album

4. Minor Threat

If punk became the defining voice of rock and roll at the end of the '70s, what the hell happened when things transitioned to the next decade? As much as bands like the Ramones and the Clash tried to keep the rebel spirit alive on the charts, the rest of us promptly forgot about all of that and moved on to the neon colors of MTV and glam metal to get our rocks off. Punk was still alive and well though...it just got a lot more vicious.

In the underground scene, Minor Threat was one of the pro genitors of hardcore punk, taking the kind of fast paced hysteria that made the Ramones so endearing and dialing it up to 1000. Punk was always about more than just the energy, and there was always more to dissect in the lyrics behind the album Out of Step, talking less about destruction and focusing on how we treat each other every day. In the span of a few years though, Minor Threat seemed to be burning out a little too quickly.

As the landscape started to shift, Ian MacKaye started to look for different outfits to work with, eventually folding Minor Threat and making the post hardcore act Fugazi a short time after. Although Minor Threat's discography seems far too short, it's probably better to just leave the legacy where it is and not tamper with it too much.
