10 Amazing Hard Rock Songs Featuring Killer Guest Stars
2. All For Nothing - Linkin Park
It's hard to think of a band like Linkin Park working with any guest musicians in the first place. Ever since the days of Hybrid Theory, every member of the band feels like they add their own sonic touch, which doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room for other artists to grandstand. Once the floodgates were opened with the collab with Jay Z on Collision Course though, they decided to go a little heavier on The Hunting Party.
During the press for this album, Mike Shinoda talked about trying to bring rock and roll back to its roots, and it shows with the stellar lineup that he chose to work with for the record. Though Rakim does end up contributing an amazing verse to Guilty All the Same and Daron Malakian adds his guitars to Rebellion, All For Nothing does a lot more with Helmet's Page Hamilton.
With Chester Bennington taking a bit of a backseat, this is the one guest star on the record that truly feels like they've been integrated into the band, taking over the mic after Shinoda and bringing a more husky tone compared to the cleaner vocals that Chester has been known for from time to time. Since a band like Helmet walked so Linkin Park could run, this feels like a good way of returning the favor.
