10 Best Hard Rock Music Videos Of The 2010s

9. Out Of The Black – Royal Blood (2015)

There was a lot going on here. In a move that seemed to be influenced by Korn's Freak On A Leash video, this visual spectacle combined live-action footage with animation to tell its bizarre story.

We witness an alien (in disguise as a giant rabbit) leading a rag tag bunch of fantastical creatures, including a killer pumpkin, on an elaborate heist. Foiled in their plans to steal an assortment of chocolate bars, the gang gets into a face off with the human authorities. It's as ridiculous as it is entertaining.

The animation is reminiscent of a certain show about a young kid and his alcoholic grandfather, which shouldn't come as a surprise. Christy Karacas had a hand in the design. He's worked on a variety of shows for Adult Swim, all of which share a similar aesthetic to Rick and Morty.

Royal Blood's music could score a whole series of this kind of stuff. You would barely need dialogue, all that would be required is the pounding drums and the thumping bass lines of their hard rock sound. A good helping of gratuitous violence wouldn't hurt either.
