Whilst some people might have preferred it if the Y2K bug did destroy the world as we know it, this big blue rock kept on spinning into a brand new millennium.

From 2000 to 2009, the world underwent more changes than in any decade that come before. The way in which people lived their lives totally changed over the course of ten years and culture completely morphed as well.

Rock music underwent a metamorphosis too, shifting from nu metal to emo to indie and everywhere in between over the course of the decade. One thing that didn't change though was how good the music videos were, as these ten great examples prove.

We've got together a nice variety of videos for you to take in here; all of them masterpieces in their own right. Funny, sad, intelligent, thought-provoking, you name it, we've got it!

Nostalgia for the 2000s has never been higher - probably because everyone who grew up in that time period is now really old - so let's jump on the bandwagon and reminisce about a truly great decade to be a fan of rock music.

10. No One Knows - Queens Of The Stone Age

The first thing to say about the video for Queens of the Stone Age's No One Knows is yes, that is Dave Grohl playing the drums.

The Foo Fighters frontman had worked on the album in the studio, so the band thought it was the right thing to do to give him some credit in the video.

Because, you know, he was such an unknown back in 2002...

Grohl appears in the musical parts of the video, which sees the band playing with a strange blue hue around them. It's a pretty neat trick, but it's not why this video makes the list.

That would be the narrative section, which involves the band members sans Grohl hitting a deer with their car. Don't worry about the furry friend though, as he proceeds to get right back up and beat the living daylights out of the musicians.

This is such a funny video and it strikes a great balance between its more nonsensical portions and shots of the band just jamming out.

It's also a great advert for taking care whilst driving at night - you never know what might happen if you take your eyes off the road.
