This was released a short while before most recent record 'Black Rabbits', as the lead single and was played almost non-stop by myself, whilst eagerly awaiting the album. I have a feeling that the lyrical content is pretty personal for Jamieson and therefore, unfair for me to dissect here, but it is written in such a manner, that many people will relate in their own way. Many saw the song as a bit of a departure, sound wise, but with so many bases covered previously, over the years by the group, that view doesn't hold that much weight. Sure, in the songs mid-section, there are some processed bass sounds and drum loops, but it isn't like they went and released a dubstep (god-forbid) single or brought in timbaland to produce. It is a wonderful, melancholic and melodic rock song that has a very reflective feeling to it. This was a, both easy, and difficult, article to write. I took a few days over it as I wanted to choose as carefully as I could. Having been a fan of the band for thirteen years, also made it a labour of love. It was a piece of cake to wax lyrical about the choices I made, but the actual choosing, was the struggle. I tried to keep in mind that I was writing this more as an introduction to the band, a beginners guide, if you like. If you are a fan already, then feel free to give me your thoughts and opinions in the comments. Most importantly, give these lads from down under a go. You are sure to find at least one of their albums that you will cherish.
