4. Gene Simmons Was A Teacher

Before playing bass for Kiss and discovering the wonders of facepaint, Gene "The Demon" Simmons shaped young minds. In between jobs as a typist and assistant at Vogue (yes, really), he spent several months as a 6th grade teacher in New York. It's hard to say why the teaching job didn't stick but it could've been something to do with Simmons' unconventional approach to English lessons. Apparently he gave his students Spiderman comics rather than Shakespeare as he thought they'd be more likely to read them.
