10 Rock Bands That Never Made A Bad Album
10. Pearl Jam
Ever since their inception in the early 90's, Pearl Jam always felt like a sort of underdog band.
Though the band was mainly comprised of the former members of Mother Love Bone, the band got flak for being too commercial sounding than the more off the wall acts of the day like Nirvana and Soundgarden. Grunge elitists can say what they want, but the music always held up as something special.
Starting from their debut record Ten, each of the band's records is well worth your time...even if they get a little bit weird. While the first few records were the typical grunge rock intensity you would come to expect, other records showed the band getting much more artsy, from the manic tonal shifts on Vitalogy to the art rock musings of something like Riot Act.
Up until the present day, modern albums like this year's Gigaton and 2013's Lightning Bolt have a lot better cuts than many of the band's contemporaries. There are definitely some albums that are a bit rough around the edges, but even those give an interesting character to the band's sound rather than actively lead them astray.
As long as these guys are still standing, it seems that we will always have great music coming down the pipeline when the time is right.
