10 Rock Stars Who Absolutely Hated The Music Business

3. George Harrison - The Beatles

George Harrison will probably be one of the first people to tell you that he didn't get into the music industry to be famous at first. Being famous and being good at your craft are two separate things, and George was more than happy to be the Quiet Beatle in the back, just filling out the guitar parts and occasionally going up to sing a lead vocal every now and again. Once the Beatles split up though, the Quiet Beatle now had to be forced to speak his mind whenever his label wanted him to.

While the first few George Harrison solo records contained some of his best material outside the Beatles, the '80s were where he began to wash his hands of the music industry completely. Becoming more and more fed up with the business dealings happening with people like Allen Klein, George seemed to put music on the side for the most part, only cutting a new record when he thought it was the right time and having the opportunity to make something new, like playing with his friends in the Traveling Wilburys or making a project with Jeff Lynne for Cloud 9.

Even when the lifetime achievement awards started to roll in, George wasn't exactly itching to go back into the world of paparazzi, famously saying that he would rather the award be given to some other dancing monkey. No one other than those four guys are going to know what it's like being Beatles, but in between all of those screaming fans night after night, you start to feel more like a piece of meat than an actual person.
