15 Artists Who Have Put Themselves On The Map In 2013

5. Macklemore And Ryan Lewis

I must confess that I€™m not particularly keen on hip hop and its variants, such as rap and RnB, but there are millions of other people across the world that are, and who contribute to making it one of the most popular and financially viable music genres. So far in 2013, one rapper who has made a name for himself is Macklemore, who went straight to the top of the charts in Britain, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, France, Denmark, Holland and his native America with €˜Thrift Shop€™, a sleeper hit that succeeds in being both fluid and funny. Though he has been performing since 2000, it is not until now that Macklemore has achieved widespread success, something that could perhaps be attributed to his working partnership with producer Ryan Lewis, which began in 2008. Due to the success of €˜Thrift Shop€™, other songs created by the pair have been rising in popularity, with another track from their first album together, €˜Can€™t Hold Us€™, recently ascending to number three in the UK chart. If old tracks can do so well, it€™s fair to say that any new ones are a good bet to do the same.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zNSgSzhBfM
