Winning the BBCs Sound Of poll at the beginning of a year is usually a good omen, given that previous winners have included Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Adele, Mika, Keane and even 50 Cent. There has, however, been the occasional winner who has failed to achieve the mainstream success expected of them, most notably The Bravery. The jury is ultimately still out on this years winners, three piece group Haim, which consists of California sisters Este, Danielle and Alana, though early indicators seem to hint that the trio are around for the long term, given the praise heaped upon them by industry publications that have frequently compared them to Fleetwood Mac.
