3. His Recovery From Addiction Remains Absolutely Inspirational
Alice kicked drugs and alcohol in the mid-eighties, and hasnt backslidden since then. The story is that he was in danger of losing his beloved wife Sheryl due to his addictions, and made the decision to choose one over the other. Ever since then, hes been a fantastic role model and support mechanism for his community, counselling his friends on the musical scene and becoming a father figure to many. In recognition of all the selfless work hes undertaken to assist his fellow addicts in life, Alice received the Stevie Ray Vaughn Award at the 4th Musicares MAP Fund benefit concert in LA in 2008.
