8. Anti Nowhere League - So What?

The Anti Nowhere League created a punk rock monster when they unleashed So What! and its filthy content onto an unsuspecting public in 1981. Released as a B-Side to the band's single 'Streets of London', the song is apparently based on a conversation the band overheard regarding two men's outlandish behaviour and talk of bravado; an example of our compulsion to try and outdo each other. Anti Nowhere League filled their song with such magnificently obscene lyrical content, including family friendly topics such as bestiality, that the police, under the Obscene Publications Act, eventually intervened. With lyrics such as 'Ive f*cked a schoolgirls t*at' it could be argued that they were correct to do so!
