18. They Were Accused Of Being A Tribute Band

Early in their career, Aerosmith was accused by some critics of having an indistinct blues-rock sound no different to the Rolling Stones; that, plus Tyler's passing resemblance to Mick Jagger, clearly meant Aerosmith were a rip-off act.

There are no such allegations these days- in fact, drummer Joey Kramer stated in 2017 that he "never cared" for the Stones and that Aerosmith was by far the better live band. Judging by this comment, it seems any resemblance between the two was entirely coincidental- or so Kramer would like us to believe.
