9. Learning To Tap

Some may disagree (you talented dicks), but learning to tap is hard. Sure, tapping one or two notes mid-solo is sort of doable and also feels pretty good when you do it, but full-on whole-song tapping is a completely new and super-difficult skill to learn. Moving from using a plectrum to finger-picking can be hard enough, but tapping is like starting over in terms of guitar-playing, especially when your guitar doesn€™t play ball with it very well (definitely the guitar€™s fault. Definitely). The only answer is to keep practicing until your fingers ache and you want to throw your guitar out of the window in frustration, but it's totally worth it.
