8 Incredible Albums You Missed In 2018
3. Polyphia - New Levels, New Devils
Describing Polyphia's sound to someone who hasn't heard of them before could be quite confusing. Somehow they've managed to combine shredding guitars and creative drum breaks that have strong influence in hip hop without making it sound like an out-dated instrumental version of Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit.
After starting off as an emo band, the four-piece have changed their style significantly and it feels like they've really found their groove New Levels, New Devils. They've fully embraced their unique sound and aren't afraid of showing off just how incredibly good they all are as musicians.
Some of the guitar work is absolutely incredible from Timothy Henson and Scott LePage is simply incredible and they share their guitar duties alongside guests such as the always impressive Jason Richardson, Mario Camerana and Erick Hansel who all put their own spin on this incredibly fun and experimental album.
