9 Reasons Megadeth Are Better Than Metallica

3. Megadeth Employs Competent Drummers

Over Megadeth's thirty years on the scene, the band has employed around eight different drummers, and every one of them is better than current-day Lars Ulrich.

Though it's easy enough for Ulrich to hide behind the studio (at least, I think €“ we haven't actually heard anything from the studio in quite some time) his failings become more apparent when he's performing live.

Simplifying songs, failing to keep time...the man doesn't even practice! Hell, even Ulrich himself admits it, telling Drum! Magazine:

"I usually feel like I've regressed. I'm like, 'Why can't I do that any more?'"
And in the same breath stating:
€œI can't say that I sit down to necessarily practice to sort of get better."

Compare that to Megadeth's long-time drummer Shawn Drover. Drover's live performance consistently matched the studio recordings, and he was more than able to keep up with the band's older material.

Despite the fact Drover left the band in 2014, we already know Lamb Of God's Chris Adler (who is playing drums on the band's upcoming album Dystopia) will be more than a fitting replacement.
