4. Me First & The Gimme Gimmes - Science Fiction Double Feature
The world's fastest tribute act and punk supergroup Me First and The Gimme Gimmes tackle a different musical genre or theme with each of their 9 releases, and on 1999's Take a Break album, they tried their hand at show tunes. Included is their take on the opening song from the cult classic musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. A fresh take on an old favourite, Me First here speed up the track and add spiky guitar chords, but manage to keep the fun spirit of the original song whilst making it entirely their own. The campy lyrics, chock-full of nostalgia and references to past horror icons of the silver screen will put a smile on the face of the even the most dark of souls.
