Kiss: 10 Awesome '80's Songs You've Never Heard

By Reverend Rock /

8. "I" from Music From The Elder, 1981

Probably the heaviest song on an album categorized by some music sites as progressive rock! Bob Ezrin, producer of the phenomenally successful Destroyer, was back as mad visionary but failed to create much magic. The song features alternating lead vocals between Paul and Gene hearkening back to early Kiss releases where that was common. The gang chorus is big, brash and memorable however, the one thing that almost knocked this tune off the list is a curiously empty middle section that does nothing to move the song forward. Worthy of honourable mention but not making the final cut are the tracks, "Only You" and "Under The Rose" that run together to form part of the original narrative.
