Kiss: 10 Awesome '80's Songs You've Never Heard

7. "Danger" from Creatures Of The Night, 1982

The release of Creatures of the Night in 1982 was an exciting time for fans who had been duped into believing that the studio album after Unmasked would be heavy. What we got instead was the previously discussed Elder album which, while having its moments, was a disaster. Perhaps fearing the worst, Kiss delivered on heavy one album later and I would make the argument that if there is indeed a heavy metal album in the Kiss catalogue then Creatures of the Night is it. Featuring the big drums of newly added Eric Carr and stellar guitar work by enigma Vinnie Vincent, "Danger" is a relatively deep track on a strong album. Stanley turns it up to 11 on this one both in terms of intensity and pace. Credit the additions of Carr and Vincent for helping the Kiss machine jump on the metal bandwagon of the early '80's. It would have been interesting to see what might have happened had Vincent been able to stick around for a decade or two as opposed to a year or two. He certainly brought something to the table that Kiss was missing at the time. This is one of Paul Stanley's fiercest tracks, well worth a second listen.
