Mark Tremonti: 10 Brutally Heavy Riffs You Need To Hear

Alter Bridge's guitarist is someone every rock and metal fan should know about.

A while back we put together a list on the best Tremonti riffs he's fired out from his time with the magnificent Alter Bridge - fans may also want to check out this humorous look what the life of an AB fanatic entails too - but it's totally worth delving into the The Tremonster's back catalogue for a wealth of other gems that've emerged along the way. For those not in the know, Tremonti started out with American post-grunge flag-fliers Creed, although after they slowly disbanded he took it upon himself to kickstart the now arena-slaying Alter Bridge alongside bassist Brian Marshall, drummer Scott 'Flip' Phillips and the wondrous, uber-talented vocal messiah himself, Myles Kennedy. Now, those in need of a Myles fix can take a quick look over here, but for the rest of you chances are you're already thinking of the heaviest, most brutal and all-round most teeth-shattering riffs Mark has put out over the last decade and a half. So, with two bands behind him, guest spots on certain albums, an absolutely perfect headbanger of a solo album and another on the way this June - perfectly named 'Cauterize' - let's get stuck into the sort of stuff that'll cause neck realignment problems for all the right reasons.
