If you've ever watched an Angry Video Game Nerd episode then you know that The Nintendo Entertainment System (in all its 8-bit glory) was a cause of joy as well as a cause of frustration for many kids during the 80s and '90s. On one hand we had classic games like Contra and Mega Man while on the other hand we had truly terrible games such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. In this episode the teens are presented with an old NES and they are surprisingly quite unfamiliar with it (one kid even refers to it as a "Game Boy One" while another refers to it simply as a "video game contraption"). The frustration sets in real fast when some of the teens admit that they've never heard of The Legend of Zelda. The host then teaches them about something that any NES aficionado had to go through at least once, the struggle of having to blow into a cartridge to get it to work. Overall, the episode is a nice little piece of nostalgia and it will make you want to pull out your old NES console to remind yourself why Super Mario Bros. 3 is the greatest game ever... right?
