It's seems hard to believe but singer, guitarist, songwriter and rock legend Kurt Cobain has been gone for over twenty years now. That means that if you are a teenager you weren't even born when Nirvana's classic single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was released off of the band's second album, Nevermind in 1991. Yet the legacy of that song and album lives on. In this episode the Teens watch the classic video for Teen Spirit and surprisingly, not only were the majority of the teens familiar with the video and song but a lot of them knew the lyrics to the song almost verbatim. Proving that you don't have to be born when a song comes out for it to be one of your favorites. The teens then watch the video for Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box" (which is an absolutely crazy video to behold anyway). The funniest moment of the video comes during "question time" when they are asked what type of kid listens to Nirvana today. The answers range from hipsters, Gothic kids, to kids who "don't wash their hair". Then the hosts breaks the news of what ultimately happened to Cobain (i.e., he killed himself) and watching the teens react to the news for the first time is reminiscent of those who experienced it twenty years ago.
