3. The NYE Fireworks Display Isn't Really That Great

Sydney rings in every New Year by rigging up the Sydney Harbour Bridge with enough fireworks to cause an international incident. The fireworks display is highly anticipated by all and nearly every Sydneysider will scramble around searching for the best viewing spot.

But fireworks are just fireworks. Once you've seen one display, you've pretty much seen them all.

After spending hours planning out the best place to watch, travelling to the planned place, and having to share your chosen spot with hundreds of other people who had the exact same idea, it is just not worth the effort. Besides, there is bound to be a video of the fireworks up on YouTube soon after anyway.
