10 Problems Only People From Sydney Will Understand

2. Bondi Beach Is NOT The Place To Go To On A Hot Summer’s Day

Despite Bondi Beach's renowned popularity, the reputation for 1 km (0.62 mile) long ribbon of sand and blue water is more about the location and history of Bondi itself than the actual quality of the beach.

Public transport is average at best and parking spots near the beach are limited (not to mention expensive), so just getting to the damn place is already a bit of a pain. Upon arriving, the first thing that tourists will notice when they dip their toes into the Bondi sand is the sheer number of people. Bondi Beach is extremely busy due to the masses of tourists and local residents who visit year in year out (even during winter), so every beach goer will have to share real estate with hundreds of people. This massive crowd of beach goers also means that any shop within walking distance will be set at crazy 'tourist prices', whether it be a restaurant or a clothes shop.

Tip to any tourist, if you want to lounge around in the sun and swim around in the ocean without putting a hole in your wallet, head for Coogee Beach instead.
