People like to form opinions on people before they've even met them. Sounds daft but it's true. So if you're elder sibling was a bit of thug in school and liked to cause trouble, you're going to get caught up with that reputation. What makes this more difficult for a middle child is that they not only have to deal with the consequences of their elder's actions, but you also have to take responsibility for the same thing happening to your youngest sibling.
