19 Things You Never Did Before Facebook

14. Asking To Be Somebody's Friend

Before Facebook, the phrase "can I be your friend" would sound pretty awkward, given that that stuff just kinda happens naturally. Speaking of awkward, what if they don't accept it? Even more awkwardly, you don't get accepted for a friend request, then see them in person after. Do you bring it up to them? Do you ask why they don't want to be your friend? For being such an integral part of "social" media, it sure leaves some socially awkward situations.

13. Bugging People For More "Lives" and "Credits" For Games

Millions of Facebook users share the same sentiment that Walter from The Big Lebowski above when it comes to getting Facebook game invites. You take a look at all of the new notifications you have when you log into Facebook and think you are so popular, only to find out that 29 of the 30 notifications you have are for some lame ass Facebook game that scams you into microtransactions to keep playing and progressing. Thankfully Facebook gives us the little tiny X next to the notification to turn off anything that comes from that game. This is something that definitely didn't exist before Facebook, outside of being a kid at the arcade begging Mom and Dad for quarters.
