Well, sort of. As mentioned in the introduction, Stalin's real name was Josef Besarionis dze Jughashvili. Apparently not quite as catchy as he wanted. After going for a slightly more notable spelling of Joseph, he then adopted "Stalin" as his surname - literally translating as "man of steel".

Not quite anything to do with red underpants and leaping tall buildings in a single bound, but the sentiment is there at least.
