Despite the original game not featuring any likeness of Sherlock Holmes, Parker Brothers received permission to market it as "The Great New Sherlock Holmes Game". Though the tagline didn't catch on, TV ads in the 80s brought back the connection by featuring Holmes and Watson playing the game together. In 2012, the first official Sherlock Holmes version of the game was released.
