Despite Pratt taking great pride in the game, Cluedo did not lead to the huge fortune for the inventor that one might expect. He and his wife ended up selling the overseas rights for one flat fee of £5000, which was the equivalent of around £106 000 today. Though this wasn't a huge amount, it did allow Pratt to quit his engineering job and focus more on his passion: playing the piano for a small orchestra.
