Even with the technology still in its infancy (or at least adolescence), robots are already better drivers than humans.

Robots don't text, sneeze, nap or drink, they have lightning reactions and are set to massively improve road safety by removing humans from the equation.

As well as the safety aspect, automatic cars could prove wildly popular in the freightage and delivery industries. Another benefit of getting computers to take the wheel is that they don't need feeding or paying, and they don't need to sleep in the cab of their truck after a few hours of driving - they can just keep on truckin'.

Of course, we have to iron out the little issues of self-driven vehicles making decisions as to who to kill in an emergency, but it looks as though driverless vehicles have a place in our futures.
