5. Branislav Ivanovic

Nobody quite expected the big defender to pitch in with 2 goals in the first 3 games, but he's performed extremely well in a Chelsea side based around quick passing and attacking full-backs. Ivanovic has performed admirably defensively too, winning countless duels and tackles and helping his side to 2 clean sheets.

4. Carlos Tevez

All is forgiven, it seems, for Carlos Tevez at the Etihad Stadium. After a controversial campaign last season in which he reportedly refused to play, and then took an extended holiday during the season. But he's back, and he's back with goals. He's scored in each of City's Premier League games, whilst also providing a couple of assists. He carried his team in an attacking sense against Liverpool and has shown his usual composure in front of goal in each game.
