8. Samir Nasri (vs England, 2012)

Manchester City's Samir Nasri caused a bit of a stir at Euro 2012 after scoring an equaliser for native France in a clash against England. Nasri fired his effort under the sprawling dive of future Manchester City team-mate Joe Hart and immediately pointed at the press box saying 'shut up' before putting his finger to his lips in a 'be quiet' gesture. The celebration was in reference to negative press with French national newspaper L'Equipe criticising him for his displays in the warm-up games leading into the tournament. Nasri later regretted the incident, saying:
It was a reaction that I should not have. When your family are reading some articles and you are the target every day, it is exhausting.
