Even the briefest suggestion of shaving the sides of your moustache should be deeply considered before the action is actually taken. You might think you look quaint like a Charlie Chaplin figure, but there's obviously a far more infamous figure who was all about the under-nose only approach, and he didn't do much for its image. In all honesty the former QPR and Sunderland defender wouldn't have suited a full moustache fully, but he wouldn't have been the worst on this list. But then in shaving it down to the Chaplin-esque toothbrush style was a very, very bad move.
