Starting out the list in the politest fashion possible, Marvin Andrews wasn't a brutal player on the pitch. Instead, the central defender embodied everything that's right about toughness in football. For years, many Rangers fans have considered the strapping big Trinidadian as one of Alex McLeish's greatest ever signings as manager. In May, 2004, Andrews was signed by Rangers from Livingston. Just a few months earlier, the man had helped his previous club win the Scottish League Cup. It was his inspirational performance, egging team mates on, as well as his ability in the air that appealed to McLeish. Even though he'd only play a few years for the Gers, Andrews is greatly remembered. Suffering a serious knee injury during his Rangers career, Marvin was supposed to be out for up to 9 months. Remarkably, he returned within a matter of weeks, and put his incredible recovery down to faith healing. People were amazed, and the man later fought through pain to enter stirring performances on the pitch.
