4. The Boston Red Sox Will Go From Worst To First In AL East
The Boston Red Sox are one of the most successful franchises in the last 11 years. They've won three World Series in that title with the most recent victory taking place in 2013. Last year was a mess due to a number of injuries to key players, bad pitching and a lot of hitters underperforming. It was a shock for them to finish 71-91, which was last in the AL East by 25 games and made them the sixth worst team overall. That's just not something we're used to seeing from the Red Sox. Will it happen again? Not likely. Where the Red Sox will thrive is offensively. They've got a loaded lineup full of young guys (look out for Mookie Betts and Rusney Castillo when he's in the majors) and veterans (Ortiz, Pedroia, Sandoval, Napoli, etc.) while also having depth all over the place. Their pitching could be better, but it's not like that many AL teams have great pitching. They should be good enough to get by. There's usually a team that finds a way to go from worst to first every season. This year it's going to be the Red Sox. They'll win the division and the Jays will get in as a wildcard team.
