Steve McClaren's pre-season coincided with Newcastle broadcasting a lot more 'behind-the-scenes' footage on NUFCTV and social media outlets such as Twitter and Periscope. The response to the club's change of philosophy and focus was extremely positive and McClaren's 4-2-3-1 system and possession based style sparked a large amount of fan optimism.
