A belated start to the job, a hit-and-miss pre-season and enormous changes in the backroom were swiftly followed by a woefully inadequate transfer window for Manchester United in the summer of 2013. Fellaini, who played for Moyes at Everton, cost the champions a grossly-excessive £27.5 million - a figure that makes you pale when you note United bid £28 million for BOTH Fellaini and Baines prior.
