It is evident with his transfer activity that Pep Guardiola is trying to shape a Man City squad that can dominate English football for years. The average age of his five major summer signings was 24.2, to complement previous buys John Stones, Leroy Sane, and Gabriel Jesus.

Although only 23, Bernardo Silva is well on his way to being the complete playmaker. His eight goals and 11 assists for Monaco in Ligue 1 last season, while not Kevin de Bruyne-high numbers, puts him in the same bracket as Philippe Coutinho and Mesut Ozil.

The Portuguese international is ready to make an immediate impact, but might find it tricky to get regular game time this season, with De Bruyne and David Silva in possession of the creative spots.
