Arsenal fans will remember Remi Garde as the tough tackling defensive midfielder who was a replacement for Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit in the Premier League and FA Cup double winning side in 1998. He was the first piece of Arsene Wenger's puzzle as he wanted someone who would serve as a middle ground as the french speaking players and English players. Nicknamed "The Ambassador" he never made more than 11 Premier League appearances in a single season in north London but became renowned for his industrious performances and became a popular figure at the club.
