8. They Finished Third In The Mexican Liga MX Last Season... And Are One Of Three Teams Who Play In Guadalajara
After winning nine of their 17 regular-season games in the Mexican Liga MX, Club Atlas finished third in the table with 31 points - joint with both América and UANL, although their goal difference of +2 was far inferior to their two rivals. Once they advanced to the league quarter-finals at the end of the Liga MX regular season, Club Atlas disappointingly succumbed 2-1 on aggregate to Monterrey and failed to walk away with a trophy. Interestingly, Atlas is just one of three football clubs from Guadalajara - with Club Deportivo Guadalajara and Club Universidad de Guadalajara also plying their trade in Mexico's fourth-most-populous city.
