Didn't know before Saturday that Chancel Mbemba could play right-back? Well apparently the 6ft 3in Jamaal Lascelles can too... Yes, the former Nottingham Forest defender lined up at right-back in a defence that also contained Mike Williamson and Steven Taylor as centre-backs, with Shane Ferguson at left-back, in one of the training games at St James' Park on Tuesday. It would be frightening to think those four could ever potentially line-up in defence for Newcastle in a Premier League match, but then again the current alternatives are not exactly inspiring either... Needless to say Lascelles' appearances at right-back seemed to just merely be to make up the numbers in a training game, but to see him deployed there was a tad surprising - and concerning in all honesty.
