Last weekend, Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko committed arguably the miss of the season so far when presented with an open goal against Stoke City in the Premier League. His side had already taken the lead against the Potters through Yaya Toure and substitute Jesus Navas presented the Bosnian with a gilt-edged chance to make it two. Navas squared for his teammate to tap in from four yards - goalkeeper Asmir Begovic was stranded and the goal gaped - yet Dzeko kicked the ball against his trailing left foot and the chance was gone. It was a howler, and the City man vented his frustrations by kicking the post immediately after - perhaps more out of embarrassment with his mistake coming in front of 47,038 onlookers, and thousands more watching at home. In the end, the miss wasn't costly, as City were able to preserve the 1-0 win and keep up the pressure on league leaders Chelsea. But it will however go down in the history books as one of the worst misses of the Premier League era and is sure to grace bloopers DVDs for years to come. Was it the worst miss the English topflight has ever seen? Here, we attempt to answer that question by rounding up the 10 Worst Ever Misses In The Premier League.
