19 year-old Ward-Prowse was among the large English Southampton contingent that impressed last season. Observing him at St Marys and on England Under-21 duty, his versatility to play in mid-field, winger and free-kick ability particularly stood out. International audiences got a glimpse of his ability this summer, during the 42nd annual Toulon, Under-20 tournament in France. His free-kick versus Brazil was voted Goal of the Tournament bringing back memories of a certain David Beckham in his prime, and, he was recognized as one of the top three players at the end of the competition. Ward-Prowse is all but set to follow the footsteps of Jack Wilshere, Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling and be the next young English mid-fielder to break out substantially.\ And it's surely only a matter of time before Liverpool try and buy him.
