Chelsea were strongly linked to the Uruguayan striker who had a fantastic goalscoring record in Serie A. Edinson Cavani ultimately opted to join French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in a reported 64 million deal. Even the Blues with their wealthy owner Roman Abramovich failed to compete with the French side. Again, one has to question whether its solely the money incentive to join PSG, as they seemingly have great ambitions as well as a top city to live in. Napoli later denied Chelsea bidding for their striker.
