15. McClaren Was So Little Known When He Joined Man United That He Was Introduced As "Steve McClaridge"
Famously, when McClaren moved to Old Trafford in 1999 to replace Brian Kidd as Fergie's assistant he was little known. In fact, the Man United hierarchy knew next to nothing about him - and he was even introduced by the club's chairman Martin Edwards to the media as "Steve McClaridge" (it appears likely that he confused McClaren with Steve Claridge).
