Much the same as Vurnon Anita, Colback struggled in a role that exposed Newcastle's midfield and asked the duo to do both the donkey work and be the creative sparks of the sie, something they simply failed to achieve. Colback looked very good against Gateshead but the change in formation did not suit the Geordie midfielder and he will hope Steve McClaren reverts back to his 4-2-3-1 formation imminently. As always Colback gave his all against Sacramento, but unfortunately his performance did not match his endeavour.
