Arnason joins the Millers with a big reputation in the lower leagues. The defensive midfielder had a long successful spell at fellow League 2 club Plymouth Argyle and quickly established himself as a fan favourite. Following Plymouths financial plight Arnason moved north of the boarder to join Aberdeen in 2011. Rotherham pounced after he turned down a new contract at Aberdeen after a very good offer was made which must mean Rotherham Chairman Tony Stewart has decided to splash the cash. A problem I have noticed for Rotherham in recent years is that although they have had good options further forward ( Le Fondre, Grabben, etc) they have struggled when teams hold possession and move the ball from side to side. This is why I believe Arnason will be a great capture and a pivotal piece of Steve Evans jigsaw and for all of his defensive prowess; he also has a Rory Delap style throw!
