Paul Lambert is another manager who jumped head first into the dangerous waters of Premier League football last year and came up smelling of roses. He, like Rodgers, found that the grass was slightly greener and moved on to pastures new after a very fruitful campaign at Norwich City. He has jumped ship to a vessel that some would say sits a little bit lower in the water than his previous one. Aston Villa, the ultimate bore draw specialists, have not seen any glimpse of success since those heady European nights courtesy of Martin ONeill. I doubt that Lambert is the answer. An over reliance on Darren Bent could lay waste to another manager's tenure at Villa Park and with the disgruntled fans demanding immediate results Randy Lerner may yet again bow to supporter pressure sooner rather than later. Lamberts demeanor during press conferences shows that he is at least aware of the challenge he faces. Hell be out first if Villa continues to stagnate in matches rather than ignite them. A wafer-thin squad doesnt help him either. Verdict: Should have started sending out a couple of C.V's a week ago.
